Sancti Spiritus, Saturday/Sunday, 4/27-28

Before leaving Camaguay for Sancti Spiritus, we check out the local Saturday market.

After a bit of confusion on which mode of transportation/bus station we should go to, we made it to the station only to find out that the peso-options to Sancti Spiritus were limited, later in the day, and not reliable. But, the more touristy bus was leaving immediately so we hopped on for a 10 CUC each ($10) ride in luxury.

We make our way to our casa particular with a 4 CUC bici-taxi ride. Our room comes with a rooftop garden and we're treated to a full moon that night.

Sancti Spiritus is on the main highway through the country but definitely not a major tourist destination. Most people opt for the more glitzy Trinidad on the ocean. But, we are here to see the non-touristy spots. It's a friendly, quiet town with a helpful and chatty store vendors and we enjoy a pizza dinner and a pool game at a billiards-themed restaurant.
